We are Amnesty International group in East Grinstead.

Our main activity is writing letters to foreign governments on behalf of prisoners of conscience or in defense of human rights. Prisoners of conscience are those imprisoned solely on account of their non-violent political or religious beliefs, often without a fair trial or, indeed, any trial at all.

We also campaign actively on human rights issues, such as torture or murders by police or armed forces.

The group also has meetings monthly and organises a number of fundraising and social activities.
